Finding the Best Features You Need from Pocket Size Camera Reviews

If there was any area of consumer electronics that just keeps on exploding it's the pocket size camera industry. You can probably guess that there is a lot of competition among the many manufacturers of this device. This kind of competition is wonderful news for you as a consumer. The competition drives the development of new technology which creates advanced features, benefits, and innovations. Let's discuss this amazing market and learn about some excellent features to look for in new cameras on the market.

The Fujifilm FinePix F80EXR is a very respectable compact pocket size camera by all accounts. The mega-zoom feature of this camera may be appealing to some. The 12 megapixels of this camera are great for large prints. It is reasonably priced for the advance features it offers. The EXR sensor offers three different modes to choose from. Because of these different modes, you essentially have three cameras in one. The different modes are highest resolution, optimum dynamic range, and lowest possible noise. More impressively, the F80EXR can also analyze the scene and make the best choice for you. The next camera up for review is Canon's PowerShot SD870 IS. While many features are quite similar to the SD850 IS, there are some notable cosmetic differences. There is an increase from 8 to 8.3 megapixels and the LCD display is slightly larger being 3 inches rather than 2.5. There is, however, a new image processor, the Digic III, plus advanced face detection technology, as well. This camera has shorter processing time partly due to the phenomenal face detection feature that is capable of detecting up to nine faces. There is an updated controller pad for this model that offers more ergonomically and is more responsive.

For a less specialized application, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX5 is a great camera. You won't be disappointed with your photos despite the camera's lack of jpeg processing ability. This camera comes with a 3 inch TFT LCD display and has 10.1 megapixel resolution. The LX5 follows on the heels of the super-successful DMC-LX3 camera. Panasonic had their work cut out for them when they started going to work on the LX5.

The improvements are not that massive, in our opinion. The LX5 sensor has about a 30% more sensitivity increase over the LX3. Also, the LX5 LCD uses a higher index for color rendering plus the LED back-lighting for improved color. {Canon has a more than solid reputation for high quality in many areas of production including digital pocket size cameras. When it comes to casual photography, this old workhouse is a fast favorite. You may find cameras that offer more robust features but they generally come with a higher sticker price.

There are many reasons that choosing the best pocket size digital cameras can be such a complex process. The best approach is to determine your particular needs and budget, of course, because you can find some truly great digital cameras that are affordable. High pixel counts are only necessary if you're planning to print out very large prints so don't make them your first priority. Don't be swayed by slick marketing campaigns trying to convince you otherwise.

Any camera maker would love to be in the position where they're struggling to design a follow up to a great product. You can find great cameras to fit any spec, application, or budget. The range in prices for cameras can start in the low hundreds and go beyond 0. The most important thing is to determine why you need the camera or why you want it. Once you know that answer, you can start researching cameras that will meet that need.

Too many terrific digital pocket sized cameras with fabulous features, right? We're seeing a lot of follow up designs now to correct the shortcomings that weren't noticeable until after production. But that is fine with many people, and us, as well. People have all kinds of uses for their ultra-compact cameras, and so bear that in mind and then find a great camera that suits your lifestyle and purpose.|These are a few of the pocket size cameras available. If you've never used a digital ultra-compact camera, these would be good ones to test out. They produce decent pictures and are reasonably priced.
